Rosie's first blog

Louise in a Rebecca Jane Original Shrug

Me getting my hair done for the show
Hi to all Bexbrides! I'm Rosie, Bex's resident model/dress mover/assistant/therapist. Bex has been mega busy recently with the influx of 2012 brides, so hasn't been able to blog. She's asked me to write some posts to let you know the latest gossip from the Secret Attic.

Rowan gives Auntie Rosie a cuddle
Firstly, Bex has been working from home this week due to a knee op. She's also had awful toothache (more painful than her knee, so she tells me) but this hasn't stopped her from being a fairy godmother to her customers. She's been texting/calling customers from her bed to keep appointments up to date, researching new (however new vintage can be) trends to keep her classic designs bang up to date! At the start of 2011, Bex was incorporating lace into her designs, which paid off at the end of April. Apparently there was some wedding on the telly (I don't know much about it, there wasn't much publicity....) but the bride wore a dress with lace on, and lace was suddenly in vogue. Nice one Bex!

Model Behaviour from Rhianna
As she's been having some time at home, she's been able to spend some quality time with the kids. She's been encourraging her daughter Rhianna (7) as she wants to be a fashion designer just like her mummy. However, she's also a bit of a spooky kid (like her Auntie Rosie) so her Zombie Cheerleader and Vampire Wedding outfits are a treat! Rowan (4) is a Jedi knight in training, so she's been sharing Yoda-like wisdom with him and helping him create new worlds with Lego. A week off to rest, the doctor said.......

Claire in a Rebecca Jane Original - "Marilyn"
And finally, Bex got her pictures back from the GASP photo shoot yesterday. We attended the Holgarth Mannor wedding fayre, where Bex got to do her first runway show. Although there were five lovely ladies showing some very pretty bride/bridesmaid outfits, Rowan and Rhianna stole the show as the cutest pageboy and flower girl ever. Rhianna looked like a fairy princess, and held herself with a professional poise - looked like she'd been doing it all her life. And Rowan was just adorable in his tail suit and with his sonic screwdriver..... don't ask! We made on the day sales, and had a lot of interest from future brides. If you spot us at a wedding fayre, do come up and say hello.
Beth in "Burlesque"

For local brides/lovers of sparkly things - Bex is setting up a stall on Wednesday 16th November 2011 at the St George's School Christmas Fayre in Middleton St George. If you've got time to pop by you might pick up a cheeky Christmas Bargain.

Enjoy the GASP Photos, and I'll update you soon!
